Meinl HCAJ1AWA Headliner cajon

Allmänt

The Meinl HCAJ1AWA is part of Meinl's Headliner series of cajons. This hand percussion instrument is a great alternative to a drum kit when you have to play an unplugged gig. This cajon is well-suited for flamenco and world music, but of course you can use it for wide variety of genres. Its resonating body is made of medium density fibreboard (MDF), while the frontplate is made of stained American white ash.

Sizzle effect

When you sit down on this cajon and slap the frontplate with your hands, or even your heels, you create tones that resonate throughout the body. These are then picked up by the strings of the built-in String Mute System, creating the aptly named sizzle effect, which adds a snare sound to the tone created by the frontplate. After that, the sound can escape through the Sound Port Ring on the back of the cajon.

Comfortable playing

This Headliner cajon comes with an anti-slip mat, for a little added comfort and stability while you're playing, as well as an Allen key. With the latter, you can adjust the instrument's front plate and snare wires to suit your preference. Finally, the bottom is fitted with special rubber feet that protect the bottom of the cajón from being damaged, and prevent the sound from being distorted by direct contact with the ground.
